Darlington Terrace

The client brief for this project was to take a condemned terrace in Darlington, and recreate it. This involved the reinstatement of all walls, floors, ceilings and all services.

The terrace, unlike most of this era, is now flooded with natural light and has excellent ventilation. Many of the original floorboards were reused, and a new attic level was added.

The design involves sophisticated details and high quality materials, Antonius and Associates custom designed all of the joinery units and many of the light features.

The external frontage of the terrace retains all of its original heritage features, while subtly combining modern elements at the rear to create fresh clean spaces in keeping with modern city living.
